The first thing I want to mention this post is this website: http://www.checkitoutguys.ca/ and say well “Check it out”. Pap smears are a reality for any trans guy who still has a cervix no matter how much we want to tell ourselves its not there, it is. I believe that if we have any sense of self-worth we will go get a pap for our own long-term health.
If you don’t realize how important it is then maybe Buck Angle can convince you of otherwise?
http://www.youtube.com/user/buckangelen Don’t worry it’s not porn.
Of course many trans guys aren’t that open or proud of their genitals, it is however important to look after yourself. I was very glad to see information related to this at the gathering in the park after the Pride Parade!
Speaking of the Pride Parade! It was so great to see so many people out there this year and though I wasn’t able to make it to any other events (yet) it seems as thought a lot of younger people were in the parade this year.
I also wanted to mention a very important legal precedent for gender benders and and all members of the queer community. Bill C-389 which would include us in the Human Rights Code where currently there is no legal protection for concerning our gender expression and gender identity. This bill would provide us with this protection given that it has already passed both readings in the House of Commons and is now in committee. The vote for Third Reading is not guaranteed, nor has it yet been announced.
More information about the bill can be read on the Facebook group/petition.

If you would like to read the entire bill it can be found here:

If you agree with this bill I ask that you e-mail, phone or mail your MP and express that you support this bill and why. The MP for Kingston and the Islands is the Hon. Peter Milliken who is also Speaker of the House.
If you don’t live in Kingston and want to know who you MP is you can find this information by entering your postal code here:

This is a big step but is not finalized yet!
That’s all for now,
Happy pride!
