Gender Bender

We’re under attack! But not in the way you might expect.

Recently in our website statistics, I noticed some strange activity. There was a new website that was referring Gender Bender.ca. There appeared to be many people using that website to find Gender Bender.ca. Lots of traffic. Nothing wrong there! I’d love for you to post our website to your facebook or twitter or blog or whatever But there was something odd about this website.

With some investigation I discovered we weren’t the only website to have mysterious traffic. With further investigation I found where this traffic was coming from. It appears Gender Bender was under attack by China.

The website was based out of China and they had many IP addresses. This may not be an attack by the government of China… hell, I don’t even know if this is truly an attack… but it came from China and it may be born of malicious intentions.

I’ve taken some steps to help prevent anymore of this traffic from China. We’ll see how that goes. Luckily for you, you didn’t see any of this I would like to affirm that we make every attempt to protect our readers and listeners from ill-do-wells and spam related comments. That being said, if a spam comment does get through or something seems suspicious please use your best judgment.
