This week I bring you…Gossip!
Gossip consits of frontwoman Beth Ditto on vocals, Bruce Paine on guitar and Hannah Blilie on drums. Both Beth and Hannah are out lesbians and the band is signed with Music with a Twist, a label that seeks to sign queer bands. Their music style has been described as a mix of soul, punk and dance.
Beth Ditto has been in the news a lot lately speaking on issues of positive body image. She is refreshingly unapologetic about her weight and appeared nude on the cover of Love magazine.
Gossip released Music for Men in June 2009 (their fourth album) and I’ll leave you with the song Heavy Cross from it.
