Surgery and Pride
Depending on who you talk to in the trans community there are varying degrees of pride and shame associated with individual acceptance of transgender status. I feel no significant pride or shame. I used to feel horrible shame and it was almost debilitating. I feel almost neutral at this stage in my life, this I not only part of my transition but also about my spiritual evolution (whatever and wherever that may be). In having my chest surgery (bilateral mastectomy with nipple grafts) just last week, I feel even more neutral about my pride and shame ( and no its not the meds I’m not taking anything but Tylenol and anti-inflammatory meds).
The whole process is grounding and wonderful. Calming, yet still slightly nerve wracking because my recovery is not over yet and I still have a journey ahead of me until my transition (at least in my mind) is complete.

Long time brief update.. more to follow
It’s been a long time since I posted and I have been busy! Last time I wrote I talk about my experience transitioning in Kingston. Honestly, not much has changed in the past few months in terms of my transition. At least not anything worth writing about, unless you count the extremely spare facial hair and acne! What inspired me to write was the fact that someone commented on my post about Photo ID/drivers license and I was thinking people DO read this and some people appreciate it!
thank you and sorry it’s been so long. Things are good with my life right now I finally am working at a job that I enjoy and it is in the field of work that I wanted /want to be in. In the summer I went to my 2nd of hopefully only 3 CAMH appointments. It seems to me that the appointment went well I I hope to have my 3rd appointment in December or January! That’s all for now I will try to write more often and hopefully the next blog I write will be this weekend. Remember to wear purple (if you have any) tomorrow to raise awareness about abuse and bullying! I don’t think I own purple…but will try to find some
